13. Test your load-balanced environment

Applies to the following products:
Questionmark Perception
Applies to the following Perception versions:
Perception 5.7

After you have created your Perception servers, your database server, and your ETL server, as well as configured your load-balanced environment, it's a good idea to test it to make sure that every server is working properly and that if one goes on, the Perception installation will still function. Questionmark recommends that the best way to test your load-balanced environment is to

  • disconnect all but one of the servers and check that this works,
  • reconnect the next server and disconnect the 1st one and check that this works, and
  • repeat this process until all the nodes in your load-balanced environment have been tested.

If your Perception environment will be processing a large volume of results/delivering a large number of assessments, you may want to consult Additional scalability recommendations for high-volume installations for scalability suggestions.
